How to Prevent Some Programs from Accessing Internet in Windows

Today, we're almost always connected to the Internet, both from the computer and from the mobile phone, but in addition to the benefits of this, we are constantly exposed to all kinds of threats that are spread over the network. In addition, there are currently many programs that need an Internet connection to work properly, which means that we are more at risk if we do not control this type of connection.

On computers running Windows, users can take advantage of one of the security tools included in the system, Windows Firewall, to control this type of communication. The problem is that unless we're used to create a Windows firewall, it can be a difficult task for the vast majority of users.
However, we can use a free tool like SimpleWall, which allows us to indicate which programs we want to access and what applications you do not use on your computer. The truth is that SimpleWall is not a firewall application, but an application that uses the Windows Filtering Platform itself, meaning that without realizing it, we will configure Windows Firewall in a very simple way.

SimpleWall has a very user-friendly interface, we just point out the way we want to run the programs, whether they are whitelisted or blacklisted. This means that we can create a white list with programs that we would like to give her Internet access, or a blacklist with those programs that we do not want to connect to the Internet, that is, that will be blocked by SimpleWall.
To add programs to one list or another, simply right-click on the SimpleWall menu panel that we use and select the Add option. From there, we can add the program for which we want to select an executable file.

Once you've configured the white or black list, we'll only have to click the Activate button or so. From now on, you'll have the programs we've added to SimpleWall's white or black list, or will not have the Internet connection as we configured it.
