USB-C standards support a higher level of device protection over the next period

The USB C standards in smart devices have been increasing dramatically in recent times, but they may also be vulnerable to attacks and malware. USB-IF has launched a higher-level software to protect USB C standards in the coming period.

USB Type-C Authentication Program

The new USB C-based protection software comes via USB-IF to support the reduction of possible attacks with higher encryption for USB-C or USB-C charging devices, with a new protocol that ensures authentication with trusted devices and accessories when connected to USB ports.

Companies can also adopt the new protocol to ensure that accessories and storage devices that are marked with a USB C port and are reliable with the company's computers, to ensure higher protection for these devices.

The new protocol and the USB C protection software are still non-mandatory recommendations for USB C device manufacturers, but Jeff Ravencraft president of USB-IF confirms that these programs will support higher security protection for devices.
