The Chrome system will soon bring USBGuard to support device protection

Chrome will support a new feature in the coming period that will protect Chromebooks from possible hacking through the USB ports of the device. USBGuard comes to disable these ports while the device is shutting down.

Chrome devices may have a protection system that outperforms Windows devices, but they are also vulnerable to attacks by Rubber Ducky or a virus-infected USB drive that allows hackers to hack Chromebooks even when devices are shut down, but a new Chrome OS update will bring a new feature that supports a higher level of protection. .

The USBGuard feature will lock USB ports on Chromebooks from receiving any code or executing commands from USB devices and accessories when devices close, as the new feature is detected in Canary Chrome.

The feature also simulates what Apple introduced in the IOS 11 system, where Apple comes to disable USB when the devices close for more than an hour, and USBGuard is also intended to support pre-connected USB devices when the devices are closed for active data transfer, for example.

A list of devices supported by USBGuard is also selected on Chromebooks, including keyboards and mouse.
