The United States begins lifting the ban on ZTE

The US Department of Commerce has lifted part of ZTE's temporary ban, which has shut down the company almost three months ago. After a $ 1 billion fine, ZTE has been certified by the United States to continue to support a lot of equipment and consumables. This is to keep the infrastructure operational and allow ZTE to deliver security patches to its phones and other products.
Bloomberg reported that ZTE is expected to comply with its agreement with the US government by then, which means that the ban may be lifted in full. ZTE received the ban at the beginning of last April because of its failure to follow up the sanctions it received for the illegal transfer of US equipment to Iran and North Korea.
ZTE has been idle since the introduction of the trade embargo, unable to purchase the necessary parts and equipment to operate and sell its products. The order of the Ministry of Commerce should allow ZTE to at least partially resume operations, although it appears to allow the company to maintain and benefit only customers.
There is still a chance to cancel the ban at all and things are going a bit differently from everyone's plans. The US Senate has voted to re-impose a ban on ZTE, but it remains unclear whether the coup will turn into law or not, especially after President Trump called for a deal to lift the ban.
